2001년부터 격년으로 3회까지 개최되었던 한중 수치해석학 공동학술대회와
지난 10여년간 격년으로 개최되었던 일중 수치해석학 공동학술대회를 올해부터
한국, 일본, 중국이 합동으로 돌아가면서 개최하기로 하였습니다. 이번에 첫 모임은 우선 일본의 삿뽀로에서 SIAM의 East Asia Section인 2회 EASIAM Symposium과
연동해서 8월 2일-7일간 개최하기로 하였습니다. 참고로 1회 EASIAM Symposium
은 지난해 12월에 홍콩에서 SCPDE05와 연계하여 개최된 바 있습니다.

Dear colleagues of EASIAM,
This is a message asking your registration for 2006 EASIAM meeting in
Sapporo, Japan in August of 2006. Please refer to the Web page
http://coe.math.sci.hokudai.ac.jp/sympo/numerical/index.html
As you see there, the meeting is embedded in
'The First China-Japan-Korea Joint Conference on Numerical
Mathematics'.
To secure the arrangements of the meeting, you are kindly asked to fill
out the items below and to return it to Tom Mitsui
(tom.mitsui@nagoya-u.jp)
as soon as possible. In particular, those who wish to make hotel
reservations through the organizer OR who need visa into Japan are requested to
respond early.
For your information, we are planning the following schedule.
2nd (Wed) of August:
(1) the technical session (or symposium) of EASIAM
from morning to afternoon
at Math Dept of Hokkaido University (Hokudai)
(2) the business meeting session of EASIAM
in the evening, say 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
at a meeting room of Math Dept
3rd (Thu) to 7th (Mon) of August:
First China-Japan-Korea Joint Conference on Numerical Mathematics,
at Sapporo Convention Center
during the period, on Thursday the conference dinner party will be
held
We, the Japanese organizers of the EASIAM meeting, are grateful to
invite the participants of EASIAM meeting to the C-J-K Conference with
exemption from its registration fee. In the afternoon of Aug 4 (Fri) a poster
session will be held in the conference venue. You are invited to submit a
poster there. EASIAM members are invited to the dinner party of Aug 3, too.
Accommodations:
A restricted number of hotel rooms are reserved in Domi-Inn Sapporo
for the whole period (Aug 1 to 8). We will pass your staying plan to
our travel agency (Kinki Nippon Tourists Co., KNT) for the reservation.
The cost of the hotel is JPY 6000 to 8000.
Visa matter:
People who are holding their passport of some countries are
requested to get a visa into Japan in advance. Since its process usually takes
a considerably long period, those who need a visa are kindly urged
to respond as early as possible. When we know you need it, we pass
it to the secretary of Math Dept of Hokkaido University, who will
ask to you more detailed information, and Dr. Takashi Sakajo
sakajo@math.sci.hokudai.ac.jp
of Hokkaido University will send the letter of guarantee and
other documents as soon as they receive all of your information.

In the proposal of EASIAM 2006 invitation to Japan, I wrote as:
Each one member of the representatives from a region will
be covered with their accommodation costs by the Japan side
according to their request.
Henceforth, if you wish to take this advantage, you are cordially
requested to ask to me not later than June 15.
Finally, I'd like to express my sincere thanks for your cooperation
and look forward to meeting you in Sapporo.
